cbr600/900/929 hybrid

I'm thinking of putting a 900 or 929 engine in my f2 when its tired engine pops. :YEAH Has anyone else done this. I don't want to go and a buy a 929 or 900. Plus this would stick it in the insurance agency's butt heheh. If anyone has any pics or tips about this being done let me know. Also does anyone know the horsepower and torque specs of a 1992 cbr f2. Thanks Guys

Re: cbr600/900/929 hybrid

i think the f2's make low 90s. they claim like 80 at the wheel. i got a f2 motor pushing 87.7 with a pipe, ignition advancer and 96 carbs with stage 2 jetting. this in a 96 frame.

i think the 900 might fit since the 600s and 900s share alot of things already but dont hold me to this

Re: cbr600/900/929 hybrid

I have a friend that helped another guy put a 900 motor in a f2. It wasn't much of a problem. I think they just made some brackets to mount the motor. All the stock plastic still fit just fine, Couldn't ever tell. Send a pm to WAD, he's on here, he knows what to do.

Re: cbr600/900/929 hybrid

I bought a salvage F2 that I planned on doing this with.. I never actually got around to doing it, but I read a lot about it beforehand

Re: cbr600/900/929 hybrid

this would be sweet idea. 900rr motor with f4i front plastics and a 97-98 solotail. on a f2/f3 frame.

I'd try the forums at http://www.rrzone.com first, or www.cbrworld.net, to find somebody who did it, or yourself, by trial and error, but really, the f2 would take the f4i front end, there is a guy here that did it, it should bolt with a change of the triples, and the solo race tail would be easy to fabricate to fit, only the side fairings would have to stay f2, unless you want more work to make them fit, i know for a fact anything can be done if you cut it enough
