Re: 929ers help the cause

Have you tried a cage yet, Zak? They really help out alot. Haven't broken too much since I got mine. I wouldn't even think of stunting without one.

Re: 929ers help the cause

Not a good idea.....the cover is stronger than the block which means.....

You will crack the block!

Get a cage.

Re: 929ers help the cause

Check out www.factorypro.com They make one and I have it on a 900, It hit the ground like 30 times, never broke. My friend Jeremy has one on a 929 and his has the bolt on puck- he has a cage so it hasn't hit the ground yet but I'm sure it's as tough as the 900rr one.

I have a Factory Pro on one of mine and its the bomb. It comes with a slider you can attach to the case cover.

Re: 929ers help the cause

Thanks for letting my know about factorypro. I went to the web site and they like they are really good quality. I just need some thing just a little bit strong than stock cause i have gotten to the point where i am not wrecking hard i just lay it over from like a rollin burn and it low sides.

Re: 929ers help the cause

ya, i was thinking it would just be easier to run one that's already made instead of trying to get a company to make one.

i use devcon on my cases, hard **** that's like an expoxy. makes them strong. but also, like it was said, you go down with billet case covers you'll crack the block.

try to find some devcon if you don't want to spend cash on another cover.

also, if you break them only doing burnouts, where did all of them go? they can't be cracked that bad, i would jb quick them or even aluminum weld them verses buying another. sell them to me!!

Re: 929ers help the cause

i had a factorypro on my 900 and dropped the bike a million times. did'nt brake the case at all, i also did a 30 mph tankscrape and bailed out of it, the bike bouncd off the ground about 5 feet. i thought for sure the case was cracked. the only thing that happened was the outer part(2 piece cover) bent and i had to replace cause it was leaking. BY FAR IT IS THE BEST INVESTMENT!!! i just got a 929 and put one on. its 1 piece and has the puck on it, cost $250. i would definitly get one.

Re: 929ers help the cause

I wiped out twice on my NRC cast cover- it bent. It caused the starter to make a wierd noise, probably because the rotor was rubbing against it. Cast=Garbage (still better than stock)

Re: 929ers help the cause

If You Go To Factorypro.com They'll Charge You 289.95 Which Is List Price. But If You Are In Good With A Local Shop You'll Probably Get It For $250-$260. They Cost The Dealer $215 So Try And Talk Em Down!!!!
