Sponsorship 101

Sponsorship 101
When you guys are trying to get a company to sponsor you, what do you say and do? I'm looking for some good tips.
Reason I ask is because a little while ago, I was talking to DV8Ryan about the X-Games. He said they have almost everything needed to get this sport on the x-games except for the money needed for airtime. Which was like $125,000. So I went back to my tribe and did some calling around and researching. Eventually I tracked down who I need to talk to, but have yet to make a proposal or a petition. I'd like this little mission of mine to be a success, so any help ya'll can give me would be a BIG help!

Re: Sponsorship 101
Take a look at WHY sponsorship works..
(imo)
It works for the athlete because they get free product and/or money.
It works for the sponsoring company because the althete they sponsor has a direct corellation to them selling more product.
So, my advice would be, if you plan to pitch a sponsorship proposal, you will need to clearly outline for the sponsor how much you expect them to give you (or whoever you are proposing for), and how it is likely (if not a certainty) that their exposure to some audience will lead to increased sales of whatever product.
