929 954 motor help

ok, i blew the motor up in my 954 a while back.

i have a 929 motor sitting in my garage taht i have been trying to sell, but it needs a stator cover.

my ??? is can i change the flywheel out on the 954 to the 929 and make the 954 stator work???also what else do i need to change to make the 929 motor work in the 954 frame with 954 wireing??? can i just put the 954 throttle bodies on the 929 motor and go with it??? any help would be appreciated.

Re: 929 954 motor help

The only thing that I would worry about is that the 954 and the 929 might be balenced differently and the flywheel is where some of the external balencing is done (if needed). Would suck to blow a good 929 motor over something like that.

you would be amazed at how much is interchangeable in honas, i know that a 954 is a stroked out 929 case, i would assume theyed be the same bolt up, i wouldnt try changin flywheels though, i once tried to do the same thing to a 94 893, i tried to put a 97 919 flywheel to make my stator work, same measurements but the flywheel was different, youd be shocked how much stuff is interchangeable from model to model, frontends will bolt up from 93 to 2003, f4i rear rims are the same as 900rr bolt right up, rear rotors are the same for just about every honda, as well as brake calipers, i would put the two bikes next to each other and take alot of measurements, heres a good site with a good forum full of dudes who do alot of customizing http://www.rrzone.com/

im sure someone has tried to do the same thing on there

let me know if it works i got a 929 motor i would sell to anyone else who wants to try!

Re: 929 954 motor help

I know a guy that put a 954 motor in a 929 but he had to change out all the wiring. He said it was because of the location of the tip over switch. I'm guessing your going to have to do the same thing. I know some that is selling a 954 motor. Let me know.

Re: 929 954 motor help

Thats pimp as hell I figured if u changed just the motor and used all your original throttle body the FI system it should compesate fuel to air ratio by it self as if you add exhaust or a k&n the sensors would notice more air and add fuel in you case just the opposite less air less fuel from the 954 to 929. :YEAH

You thinking about boltin the FI on your 919 motor or dropin a 929 and the throttle body and all the FI in your RR. either way that would be the ultimate stunt bike. Anybody ever done this if so get back with me tell me how it worked out I'd like to either put a 929 with all the FI in my RR or Fuel inject my 919. Thanks

Kris

no im talkin about that 919 bike that honda sells, they say its a 98-99 based 919cc but it has feul injection, i was lookin at on of my boys one day, it looks as if its the same motor only it bolts up a little different , the 919 has a different frame, i also measured up the fi off a 929 as well as the header they would bolt up to a 900 motor, the only problem i saw with that was the feul pump would have to be welded into the tank, and youd need to custom mount the crank and cam sensors into the bock, the airbox would have to be custom as well, the 929 has that air flapper in the air box. i thought about that beleive me, i had a salvaged 929 in my garage and had all the parts it just seemed like alot of work, the 919 touring bike however is the same block as the 900rr, that may be an option. i never had one apart, i see them totaled out all the time on this salvage site, but they want like 3000 for one wrecked, one day ill buy one or catch someone sleepin and get me one cheep.

I've got the 919 motor in my 900RR sounds like a lot of work mounting all the sensors and the airbox I might be more in clined to fabricate some motor mounts and put the 929 motor in my 900 I guess either way in gonna be a lot of work.

im not talkin about the 919cc 900rr motor, honda came out with a bike a few years back that has the 919cc motor with feul injection, the bike is called the 919, heres the link to the site http://powersports.honda.com/motorcy...odelId=CB900F4

the bike has the 919cbr motor with fi very tempting isnt it, if i was into the whole non plastic thing id buy one for stunting, but i hear they are geared more for touring. check out the motor in the bike look familiar?

Ya I've seen those never really looked at it that close but I bet it would work now I just need some poor sap to wad one up so I can buy the Fi off of it cheap. Looks real simular the 900 Thats cool never thought about good Idea. U could just go like -1 and 20up that would do it for ya. Just not real interested in the naked bikes.
