Will A 02 03 R1 Motor Fit A 01 Frame?
I have a 02 R1 motor with the works. Rad., exh., wire harness, cdi, everything. I just don't know if it will fit into my 01 frame. If anyone has crossed this bridge please let me know. I'm going to give this post a week or so. If I don't find out, I'll try it anyway. Thanks Ya'll!!

you'll need to fabricate your own engine mounts align it properly
wiriings harness, fuel pump, cdi, gauge, ecu, probably r1 tank and some other stuff i missed, not worth the trouble in my opinion.

Just like the 1000 motor wont fit in the 750 frame with out motor mounts. But thats all you need is the mounts to swap a 1000 in a 750... This doesnt help you really..

all the suzuki **** will fit one another because suzuki is cheep, break down alot, ugly, and they all look the ****in same.
good in the sence that it keeps production cost down, but every 600, 750 and 1000 rider look like they are on the same bike......cool factor on the low scale
and why would you want to put a 03 R1 motor in a 99 or 2000, or put a R1 motor in a R6, both are way to much trouble, easier and cheeper to just sell the bike you have now, and buy the bigger or newer bike

my buddy has an 01 R1 and blew the motor, we got an 02 motor off e-gay, atleast that what he said it was, and it bolted right in. since you have all the stuff for the newer motor and are willing to swap mostly the harness it should work. i'm not saying im an expert on yamaha's(which i hate, no offense), but it worked for us....
p.s. oh and the 750 gixxer motor will not fit into the 600 frame without cutting and re-welding the motor mounts.....
