does a 600 have the power?
i just bought an 03 gsxr 600 and was wanting to start learning wheelies. i have heard that there are some 600's that can get the front up with just throttle. is the gsxr one of them? also, i have tried to clutch it a little just to get the feel of letting the clutch slip, but when i let out all i get is a big jerk. am i letting out too fast? any help would be great !

It all takes practice and time bro... Since Im a newbie, and not a pro, I can give some advice...lol
First you gotta learn to crawl before you walk. If your like me, you'll want the **** to come overnight. But it aint going to happen.
Just take ya time, talk to the right people on here. There are still some that will help you out... Search the forums(stunt forums, stay away from them forums)and you'll find alot of info...
Dont get caught up in the new drama threads that pop up in the stunt forums and you'll be good. Come here to learn and **** will come...
But on the real, just take your time and practice. Search and talk to the right peeps and you'll get it.

Yeah, find a good spot and spend quite a bit of time there (if you get tired, take a break). My first 'poppawheelies' we way out of control, with me almost flying off the back, then mouse-trapping it and almost going over the bars lol. You will learn alot with your first week of 'stunting'(practicing).
-imo clutching is usually an easier way to learn wheelies (opposed to powering them) I just feel more in control.
-cover the rear brake with your right foot. this will help ya from looping it.
-gear up because you'll probly fall

yea... I started powering em up on my gixxer 6...DONT DO THAT! I suggest going one down in the front...only $13 bucks for one. Then put it in second, just before the power kicks in, when the RPM's are still low...wack the clutch and give it gas when the clutch comes out. Like squidmark said though...cover that brake if you dont already know how to wheelie. its a god send! Take your time!

your not able to clutch wheelie because of this one right here, ur clutching it and then letting the rpms go up and then letting the clutch go out. you have to go in a fluid motion to where your clutching for maybe 1/2 second at most. i did the exact thing ur talking about when i first started. you have to be gassing the gas like your trying to speed away really fast while your clutchign and continue with that motion because your clutching it and giving it a burst of power but your not gassing hard enough to continue the power. so practice like this in 1st from like 5 mph gas 3/4 of full speed when you get to 15 mph clutch in and when your bike is loud (prolly 8-9k rpm) let out the clutch but keep the throttle still at 3/4 and cover the back break. its not the sudden burst of power that pops it up its the sudden burst followed by the power still pulling it to go up.

on the gsxr 600 ""stock""" get your rpms up to around 7-9 then dump your clutch, keep arms straight, sit back in your seet. if your a big guy 200lbs + try goin a little higher on the rpm then letting it out. if you want to """throttle it up"""" take it up to 9 or so then back off the throttle and snap it back open "carefull" if you open it up all the way, you will "12" your gixer has more than enuff power to play. these are my methods for fast wheelies, other people have other methods, i think this is the best way to start learning.
