why run 1 qt. over?

why run 1 qt. over?

whats the purpose for filling up oil one quart over? isnt that really bad? Just curious

helps prevents oil starvation...maybe just a superstition, but i do it.

so when you're at 12 there is enough oil that the pickups will still be in the oil.

some bikes, like 93-95 900rr and gixxer's the pickups won't reach the oil when it's on 12 and it locks the motor up.

depends on the bike, some bikes the oil pick up wont get any oil if u have the normal amount while doing a wheelie so u go too long and u will blow the motor, w/ a qt. over it reaches the oil pick up, there for long wheelies w/ out blowing motor, u do run the risk of blowing seals w/ a qt. over. there ya go.
