balance points?
Is it just me or does the R1 balance point feel so much steeper compared to the hon/Suz. Not to mention the twitchyness. I'm trying to move around the bike during a wheelie, but having a hard time keeping it smooth. Any suggestions? I don't want to be going 100 mph doing stunts, know what I mean?

then throw the bike away lol jk..good luck with the R1..the balance point is like straight up, at least from my experience...but see what everyone else says , they prob no alot more* but im pretty sure about it, the balance point is very high and the bike is twitchy cause its so light with so much power... i just got a 954 and heard the same thing about this bike so...a power commander should help...but goodluck !!
i guess with time u can stunt almost everything, watch the dte video chauncey stunts the **** out of his R1

i remember Joe Brown talkin about riding 12's on a R1 and he said it was hard, but fun. think he said he saw 12mph w/ stock gearing. it can be done, it's gonna take a beating during the learning stages, and your subframe is welded to the bike.

Might I mention...
The balance point depends on where your body is.
If you want a higher wheelie, shift your weight forwards and bend your elbows as much as possible. Pull yourself up to the tank and windscreen.
If you want it to balance lower, straighten your knees stiff, and fully extend your arms (elbows straight) then lean back grabbing your seat with your legs/knees.
Higher balanced wheelies have a more impressive appearance in my opinion. But if you're wanting a straight and stable wheelie, or if you want to slow down at some point, nothing beats leaning baaaaaaaack.

I agree Ahigh, balance point depends on body positioning. I remember one time I throttled one up in a sitting position (1st gear) and it came up quicker than I expected, and went past the balance point, I stood up and damn near put my chin on my windscreen & carried it with no problem.

I agree that its different with body positioning, It just seems like every other person I see doing a stand up is lower. I know that the higher it is, the better looking but it just makes it a little scary when doing combos.

R1's Balnce Point
I feel the r1's the 954's have a longer swing arm but the same wheel base. I think all the Sports bikes are right around 55 inchs. But what makes the difference is the long swing arms. If you want the R1 to be more stable lower tire pressure in the rear and roll with a worn out tire. Somtimes when the tires get too worn they get squirly too. R1...Hum... Tricky stunt bike I think most will agree.

R1 1200
Another one of Dizz. Take note of the brace welded to his rear sub-frame(not the scrape bar). That brace broke too. R1's a hard to stunt but I think there even harder to keep together if you stunt them.

Schwartz/Dizz, Can I get more info about the brace on the subframe. It seems like the welded Sframe is not very good for stunting. Should I put a brace on mine also before scrapin, or should I just sell it and by one with a welded Sframe?
P.S How did the tank get dented so perfectly? Did he take a rubber hammer to it? If anybody knows an R1, the tank is convexed with ridges, that **** hurts if you come down to hard..
