Angry Bad 12's bar, help for new one

Hi,

2 months ago I build a 12 bar for my 50 moped, and I have a few questions about the bar.
It was easy to imagine how the bar would be fitted to the subframe. The subframe was long enough and horizontal, but after a while there getting problems, see by yourself.

I was go to build the full bar of aluminium, bright and strong I thought.
I think this was the worst choice in the project of the bar.
The first time that I doing 12's I had a fear that the bar could breake, I still have this feeling.

A week ago I had a little crash while I was stunning and that evening I saw that my bar was not in the right position.

After I saw this I'm not sure more about the strength of the bar.
I like too build a new bar on my bike, the same construction, only the end maby 1/2 inches shorter.
Should I build the bar this time of massive steel, and not of massive aluminium?
People tells me after that I build the bar, that aluminium for a 12 bar is not good, because the aluminium is too flexible, and steel not, is this true?

So guys do you have any tips for my new bar..

Greetz Stephan (from Netherlands, bad English, sorry )

daaaaamn... you need to shorten it about 3 and 1/2 inches. And use steel for sure.

dont use aluminum. aluminum breaks, steel bends, trust me you'd rather have that thing bend on ya rather than break.

i use 3/8" steel that's 1.5" wide...works great.

also, put some angle on the back, the angle of your plate doesn't even come close to matching the ground. Try backing it up against a wall to get a basic angle, that wll help a lot.

yep i used about 1/4" steel that's 2,5" wide works perfect.
and that angle is real bad i used to have it that way and it doesnt scrape that well and also al the pressure comes on the downside of the plate what makes it bent sooner.

Hi guys..

The bar is now from steel, and I shorten it in for 4 inches ... Only the back of the bar where it hits te ground is still of aluminium. I've also painted it black
My finally question is will the aluminium flare when I do a rolling 12 o'clock, or is this only possible with steel back of the bar..

Thanks for the good reply's!

Thanks. I'm gonna create a new rear of the bar tommorow, of steel ofcourse.
Then spray it also black, and then I'll hope it will spark when I gonna do rolling 12's.

The only thing is my reartyre hits a vetical wall 0,4 inch earlier then the bar. Is this a big problem or not, does it mean that when I make a wheelie an it hits the bar, that I'm a little bit over 12 o'clock.
When the bar hits the wall earlier then the reartyre is the chance too flip backwards smaller?

maby when I change the tyre pressure, and make the rear of the bar 0,4 inch longer it will be a normal 12 o'clock bar. I won't take any risk too flip backwards

actually teh rear tire should hit the wall first because when you do a 12 the rear tire will flatten.

This is the stand of the bike with my new (shorter) bar.
I thought it is just a little bit over 12 o'clock. Can I make rolling 12's with this stand without too flip backwards, and it is really get used with this short bar, I didn't even touched the bar with a sitting 12 o'clock
Maby I'm scared too flip backwards
