There is this private airstrip...
... and I already met with the owner about allowing a few guys to practice on the landing strip, on Sundays perhaps. So..in less than two weeks, I'm going to meet with the owner again to set the conditions of use. He has no problem with me going there every so often and play, but he mentioned arranging with FAA to have his strip not available for use on Sundays, and have a large group of riders show up. Money will be involved ofcourse, but I really want this to happen for SL community. I want to be fully prepared for our meeting, with a solid result. ...so... how should I be prepared to win a sweet deal?

Get 'em liqueured up first. Makes things go a lot smoother. But if you plan on taking advantage of him later on, make it a roofie-colada.
On the serious note, act like Nags. Just avoid acting like RPM on his acting-serious-like binge or Shugga on his drinking binge.

twin, I'm assuming this is a public airport, without a control tower......I don't know exactly how to work it with the FAA, but you guys should have someone with either a scanner that picks up aviation frequencies so you can monitor it, or put out what we call a "NOTAM(notice to airman)" This will alert pilots of the activities taking place on the runways

i know the owner of a private airport out in jersey. he lets us ride on a strip that runs along side of a runway. faa doesn't hassle him over it but his lawyer made us sighn a " ride at your own risk form" the only problem we deal with is people hearing about it and coming out there, cause if they go down they might try to bring a lawsuit up against the owner.
i think your gonna have alot to deal with if you bring money into the situation.
your gonna need liscenses and all kinds of paperwork

He has a private strip, some public activity during hours of operation, flight classes and stuff. The owner is the one that brought the FAA into the subject, which is cool, showing that he is interested. At first, I think I will offer him a donation type of arangement, untill it becomes big and we want to do shows there. It's a lot to work out but I think it will be worth it in the end. I hope there will be enough people to make this thing big. AMA, CCS and WERA have their own playgrounds and I think we deserve to have one too. I'm hoping to use his lawyer, so I won't have to go out and spend money I don't have on one.

I check 'em every night. This strip is closer to Orlando than Ocala. The guy is really cool and he opened up a bike shop back in '79. It became very dedicated to racing, mostly road, till he had no more time to operate both the bike shop and air strip. So he sold the shop to his friends but still stayed involved with bikes. I think this just might be the kind of thing that will spice up his taste for two wheels. Ride at own risk ONLY...don't attempt to sue, and won't have your knees broken b

Later this week, I'm going to meet with the owner for the second time to persue the idea. I'm hoping to get NSRA to be with me to show the owner what this is all about and the fact that this is a fast growing sport (obsession more like it, or at least addiction).
