900RR slider problem

man what the ****

I cant seem to find some solid mounting points for sliders. I had some big *** sliders on my other 900RR and one good wreck and those bitches broke off and took the damn mounts with them. Cracked my block and totally FUCT my motor. Ive been running with no sliders but Im tired of breaking little **** everytime I wreck. I thought about a cage but IVE seen cages do more bad than good.

ANYONE got some ideas on where to put these MUGS?

I've had all of the same problems- forget the sliders or cage they are pointless. Buy a good stator cover (i'd give the name of the one I bought but that's advertising) that's all you really need on the 900rr the others just break the frame in a fall.

i have big aluminum sliders on my 900 and never had a problem cause i use weak *** bolts. instead of breaking **** the bolt just bends and i stick a bar in the slider and bend it back. grade 3 or 5 will work. the tough case cover thing works too. over winter im welding some 5/16 diamond plate over the cover to strengthen it up. knowa couple peeps that it worked great for

until i had my cage built to brace the sliders, they bent every time they hit. cracked the motor mount, got that welded. Unless you have a well designed cage that wont hurt the bike if it bends/breaks, you'll just keep bending sliders.

Sliders by themselves do more damage than they protect. Get some armor on there and you'll be set.

thats what Im thinking

The damn sliders I had took a few good hits but eventually they ended up destroying all. Cracked my block good. I JB welded the hell out of it but I think it cracked all the way through the cylinder. Was dumping mad fluid into my oil pan. Ive seen some good sliders but I think with a hard enough hit its gonna bust the mount regardless. Theres gotta be a way to support it all. I just dont wanna make the same expensive *** mistake. I had to swap cranks and cases the day before LSBB. IT SUCKED!

grant from kcmw has mounts welded to the frame to support the extended sliders
