Bouncing clutching aftermath
Well I have yet to get the wheel in the air for a wheelie in 2nd gear. I haven't had a chance to practice much casue its 30 degrees outside most of the time. I am -1+2 on the f4i. I heard bounce and I head use the clutch. It took me for ever to get my timing down on the on off on wheelie in 1st gear. So I am expecting the same for bouncing. What ever one I choose wo't matter but about the clutching as long as I slip it and not dump it then it won't be as bad on the plates and tranny. RIGHT? I have heard ppls tranny going bad, clutch going bad becasue all they have done is clutch up wheelies. But someone was telling them if done right then it won't affect the clutch, they said to slip it. But what do you gusy think? and would I be better off trying to bounce it. Granted clutching prolly looks better than some idiot bouncing up and down on the pegs but at the cost of my clutch I will deal with it.

Shifting during wheelies is more the culprit for a trans havin probs. Riding around town will wear the clutch, clutching a wheelie will wear it faster. I practice all the time..I get 8000mi+ out of a stock clutch...75%of that in a parking lot

If your trying to learn stand-up's. Prime the throttle, crack it full then get your *** as far over the rear of the bike as possible. Once it comes to where you can ride it level off. You really dont have to bounce that hard either. Or my buddy rides an f4i, he jumps on the back pegs and clutches like that. That way the bike will come to you. But I tried that on my R1, didnt work my pegs folded up. LOL!!!!
