Think it may have to be geared for that, but I could be wrong. I have a 99 F4 and I know it'll definitely come up fast in 2nd with clutch so 3rd is not out of the question. Just don't expect it to be like the Gixxer1000 or anything cause it's far from it.

yeah, ive ridden both. I think the F4i has more power - or it could be cause its injected & nice & snappy. Ive seen bone stock F4i's come up in 3rd on the highway - granted it was beat off the rev limiter & bounced up. the important thing is that it came up.

bang it up in 2nd & balance it. once you get the bike to the balance point - you wont need any more RPM or speed to keep you up.

F4i feels like it has more power cause power delivery is smoother and it has lower gear ratio (one up in back from the F4). Plus it revs higher. The F4i I rode felt faster than my F4 and mine is up two in the back.

I have a '99 f4. I rock 2-4th gear wheelies, and can do ironcross and highchair 2nd gears.. however, im -1+3 with a 520 chain. W this combo I can wheelie highway with my r1 and gxr1000 buddies. Im in 4th they ride 2nd gear. The F4 is a very well balanced bike.. not all racey, plus it has narley brakes for stoppies.

am i the only one that has a problem with my f4 flooding when i do a stoppie over 50ft? u cant really notice it when u keep riding, but when u shut ur bike off for a few minutes and try to start it again it wont start unless u give it full throttle and than it takes a couple of seconds and bogg's for a bit before it starts... And its only when i do stoppies because when i dont my bike runs fine. Any one know WTF is going on and how i can stop it ?
