Ask PAWPAW from Code Blue (i think that is his team name), he showed us how to do it good, use a hammer & be careful not to hit the gas cap.

I have an F4i, and I searched and found my answer... supposedly these tanks are harder to smash in than others...

ya,,,f4 tanks are pretty stiff....crossover stoppies didnt even make a ding......use a rubber mallet, then hit the rubber mallet with a 3 pound hammer. makes nice even dents. done pound the **** out of the tank. just place the rubber mallet on the tank, then hit it lightly all over until its good

stick to the rubber mallet, and go around the cap, but beware; a friend of mine has an '02 gsxr 600, and the inner lip of the tank where the filler hole is hit the bottom, and he had prblems with fuel pouring out after stoppies, i've had no problem with my 929 tho.
