gixxer stock dampeners
i've seen a few posts where people are saying to just put thicker oil in their stock dampeners. do these dampers just come apart or do u need special tools? also what is the stock oil they use and what would be recommended to upgrade to?

what i was told is to take out the little torx screw and drain the oil, then get a tupperware dish big enough to fit the whole damper in. pour the new oil in there. COMPLETLY submerge the damper and move the stroke in and out till all the bubbles are gone. then while keeping it under the oil put the screw back in.
i was told to use synthetic 50wt. i don't have any experience with this it's just what i was told by a fairly reputable source.
