Seting Up a 929

2 of my buddies recently got 929's to stunt and we are trying to figure out the best way to set them up. They already did the gearing (-2 +12 and -2 +7) and cages but wanted to know if anyone has been modifying the exhaust valve or the air box flappers. With their idles turned up their RPM's seem to fluxuate a lot which makes no handed stuff a b!tch. We tried removing the air box flappers and rigging the exhaust valve on one of them open but it seems to bog down while doing slow wheelies.

Any help or tips???? We thought these were the premeir stunt bike.

929

pull the flap out remove the exaust valve and re sync the throttle bodies but no matter what you do anytime you go above 3gs with the idle it will jump to 5gs learn all your idle tricks at 25 hundred thats what i did to mine and it runs flawless no power loss or anything all that valve talk is bull **** get rid of it

so on the 929s you pretty much have to do everything either under 3gs or above 5? Just wondering cause I am saving my pennies for one.

you should never be above 5g's for any reason.....

I'm actually in the middle of setting up my 929 right now

For slow stuff, yes. I agree. I am not real good on the 750 yet and I am in the 3500-4500 range right now. bah.. I will figure it out/worry about it when I have one. That's cool that you finally got yours though, wheres the pics?

You shouldn't have to mess with the exhaust valve if you have a chain and sprocket kit, aftermarket exhaust and mess with the idle it should balance out fine. Try setting the idle up at different RPM's until it stays up and coasts along.
Also if your at 5 G's on the idle then you must be looking to twelve it without touching the throttle 2500-3000 should be plenty of power....
