damn man that sucks. I have a torn ACL right now and a damaged lateral miniscus. I tore it about a year ago. I havent had the surgery cause it doesnt really bother me that much. It hurt like hell at first but after a few months I was out in full force. Once in a while it will lock up for a second but other than that its not too bad. Youll be back soon.

i dont know... i have heard some shitty things about ACL surgery. I havent had the surgery and I can ride everyday with no problems at all. Doesnt bother me. 6 months is a grip of time. I dont think I could take being out that long. Just my opinion though.

If you tore your ACL and you are contemplating surgery or not.. I would do it....don't know how old you are but if you don't have surgery your looking at severe aerithritis(spelling*) a lot younger than you want it just my 2 cents though

Don't know you guys, but I did have the surgery on the ACL about 4 years ago. They fixed it and in about 3 months I was gettin back on the court with a brace and all; I didn't have good range in bending and straightening it though, so I went back under the knife. It's alright, but it was fine and hurt a hell of a lot less before the surgery. I have arthritis and I'm not even 20 and that is after the surgery, so it'll happen either way. Think it over and talk to a few specialists before you actually make a decision. Hope it works out for ya!!! Just make sure you get back on that bike!!!

I had the surgery a few years ago. I had completely torn my ACL a few years before but waited until my pro-race career ended before having the surgery. I couldnt jump or run without it giving out. Since the surgery I am much better, but it will never be 100%. If you dont have the surgery, you risk having bad knee problems in the future due to the cartilage rubbing and grinding wrong.

I had the surgery from a torn ACL and broken patella about 4 years ago also. I can do anything and everything and don't really suffer from any pain. Sometimes i'll get sore but very rarely. My un-surgery knee hurts more most of the time.

Plus the 6" scar looks cool

ZANNMANN can only hope to improve
i also had a torn ACL it happened about 5 months ago,i had a great surgeon so he told me all the righ **** to do. i had to wait a month and do physical therapy with a torn acl to get full range of motion back before surgery, then i got the surgery i now have 2 pins in my knee and a part of my hamstring grafted to be used as the artificial acl tendon. im almost done healing im on my fourth month and im back at the gym by meself ,and im back riding ,no i cant do all the tricks i used to do but it will come back. its all in the time you let it heal. if you cant wait and let it heal it will never be 100% so get the surgery (surgery sucks and it will hurt for weeks)but itsa worth it.
lata,
mike

That sucks Jacob!!!!

I also blew my acl bout 4 years ago, and haven't had any problems with it since then. I did not get surgery, as I did not have health insurance at the time, and it would of costed over 15,000. It hurt for appr. a month or 2, and after that, I had full range of motion and it rarely hurts, cept when it rains.... lol

I have had 2 buddies with blown acl's, and went and recieved surgery, and both have blow it again(one buddy 3 times)! So, it kind of seems to me, that after surgery it may be more weak..... just my .10 cents.

i got the surgery, may 30th (after two years of putting it off) i dumped and tore the miniscus so i had to now.......... my phuckin knee kills every day, more when i ride, goin in again, to hopefully br fixed, i recommend u still do it, even if it hurts after the surgery it'sway more stable, that's just my knee tho..................
you'd think with all the knee injuries/surgeries on this page people would think twice and maybe wear a brace or somethin
