954 vs gsxr1000
My friend tells me he can wheelie a 03 954 faster and easier then a 03 gsxr 1000. Were talking power wheelies, what does everyone else think. I heard the 954 has a broader balance point, but it onlytakes a flick of the wrist to power up a gsxr

I love my 1000. It has awesome power and it comes with a steering dampner from the factory. The 954RR cost more but put's out less power. Go figure? But all in all, both bikes have advantages over each other in the stunt world.

I'm a 954 owner/stunter. As far as the broader balance point, I think you got it reversed because I'm pretty sure the 954 has a shorter wheel base.
I'm not sure which is faster because it depends on the rider for the power wheelie speed. We had a couple track fastest wheelie contests here and the 954 rider did win both events, but it was pretty marginal. I would say it is up in the air there.
However, like the guy said before me the gixxer has more power and stands up a LOT easier.
My advice would be to get to a dealer and test drive them both because it is going to be a comfort thing that makes the difference. Not really the power comfort, but the riding position because the 1000's and 954's have radically different positions.

I've ridden em' both and found the 1k to be much easier to wheelie than the 954. I also think the 1k is more comfy. I like all the manufacturers bikes for different reasons, for easy power wheelies its definately the 1k.
