RIP Kelly

Kelly did not die from any result of stunting and that is how they portrayed it, she did not lose her life to street stunting.

They should have portrayed this different and I hope that all send an email to CBS about this.

the report they did about Kelly was absolute BS. She was a very cery close friend of mine and what actually happened was not what was said last night.

its almost as if they made her out to be some out of control hooligan when the accident wasnt her fault at all. anyway, sorry about the venting, but seeing my closest friend pass away was hard enough without these idiots spreading negative media about it.

My bad, I would like to retract what I said about her needing to learn to ride first. Its now obvious after reading some of the posts from her friends that she indeed was a following the right path. Definitely not the impression I got from the story thats for sure..
RIP Kelly..
Cheers

evening@cbsnews.com

here is the copy of a email i just sent cbs....feel feee to join me

To whom it may concern:

I am writing in regards to your story titled deadly world of sport bikers and specifically the comment made from the police officer. I ride a street bike. I am a 23 yr old female. I also stunt my motorcycle on the street. I have asked the Marshall, a clerk of the police dept and any cop that I come in contact with if they know of a place we could ride they way we want without breaking laws, or putting anyone in danger. They all have said no. I think I can speak for most the people I ride with when I say that I would love to have a designated spot for us to stunt/race. So in reference to the quote "The kids who say that, often have a kind of twinkle in their eye cause they know that they like to run from the police. That it's not hard core street racing if you're not on the street," said Dallas police officer Patrick McCully. One , were not KIDS , and two if I beat someone in a race on a city street or a privately owned area ....I still won. It doesn't matter where we were racing. I don't have a desire to race someone with a boat load of traffic around me. The cops need to understand we don't get off on breaking the law. We love to ride the way we want and are more than willing to work with them as long as their willing to work with us. We would also appreciate the news reflecting a good image instead of just the bad.

Sincerely, Kaycee

Firt of all R.I.P. to Kelly.
Second these people at CBS need to get there story straight They are talking abut a motorcycle accident that did not involve any stunting. So why show a Starboyz video and a bunch of stunters that does'nt have anything to do with the topic. For publicity or just to give us a bad name. Like most of the people comprehended the message street racing and stunting are 2 completely different subjects. I never listen to the news or media unless I see the facts in front of me or have seen it in person. I don't believe a ****in word they say. They are just a bunch of dumb ****in people that have nothing else better to do than start some **** over nothing. Also that cop needs to pull his head out of his *** and maybe think a little before he speaks. FTP isn't only for the Po Po's it also means "**** THE PRESS"

This kind of misrepresentation sucks when it hits close to home but most stories are reported as inaccurately as this one. The news industry lives by the slogan, " Don't let the facts get in the way of a good story."

I wanted to give them a peice of my mind so here it is.

To whom it may concern;
This E-mail is regarding the bogus news story on "fear of the freeway" that you aired last night. First of all R.I.P. to Kelly Howard. Second what in the world does stunt riding have to do with this story here? Do you even do any investigating before you report or show a story? To my recollection Kelly was not killed by stuntriding. So why go and show one of the most well known stunt team videos on the air portraying like it is their fault that she died? I'll say this again. You are talking about street racing what if anything does this have to do with Stuntriding? You always have to show all the cons of the story and no pros to it. Then you pull someone from the crowd that has very little knowledge of the topic and ask them what they think? If you want to report on a story do it the right way. Thank you for giving me a good perception of what your newsteam is like I'll be sure to tune out the next time I come by your channel.

FEEDBACK:

Jason

Thank you for writing. We are not saying that all sportbiking is bad or that all sportbikers are reckless. We were reporting on a developing trend. We have done many stories on the dangers of SUVs and other vehicles. The story was fair and balanced and did not intend to imply that all sportbikers were like the ones shown in the piece.

isn't it 'the more publicity the better', or 'any publicity, is good publicity'...

it's getting stunting mainstream coverage, why isn't everyone happy ?? the more people think this stuff is 'crazy' the more they will want to watch other people do it..

if i was your average joe, I would think 'damn, I'm never getting a bike, I'll kill myself on one... but it damn sure looks cool when someone else does it'

hey, musicians PRETEND to be bad so they can get any kind of coverage, you think CBS would have put 'motorcycle stunts, the new extreme sport' on PRIMETIME tv ?!?! possibly, but i'd highly doubt it, they wouldn't get half as many viewers as a 'death on wheels' segment..

Myself along with Rezin from Cycleforums have started talking about doing a possible Protest Ride to CBS News Headquaters in NYC in response to their biased news reporting.

Obviously anyone who attends this ride if it does occur should be on their best behavior and act responsible.
