The time has come for me to deal with this...

I can't clutch it up. I'm all about the power wheelie...

me too. But I got a gsxr 1g totaly ***** out so its no problem. Carbon Fiber wheels make your bike rev up qiucker than you can say 12'oclock. I like to play on the highway getting them up in 5th with the clutch (-1+2). It is f*cking laughable. Really no point to care about the clutch or the power/pump if you know the BP and you know where the rear brake is.

I'm on a Gixxer 1000 too. I've started tapping the back brake this week, and slowed down to about 40mph in first...

but I'd like to be able to clutch it up smoothly and start working for the slow stuff...

gotta practice before it gets COLD!

Woo-WOOOOOOOOO!

I said I was gonna deal with it, AND I DID!

I went to the spot yesterday and worked on it for about 2 hours....

started rollin' past in second, dippin the clutch and started getting them up. Within 3 minutes I had those figured out....

By the end of the two hours, I was having a blast. I was picking them up from around 5-mph and getting the balance point and ridin' them all the way out. I even started hitting the back brake! I need to work on hitting the BP quicker though...

I had to quit when they started getting sloppy because my finger was getting tired from all the clutching!

One step closer to slow wheelies this fine day. I am rather pumped about this.

Detroit, colder than britain, in the winter anyway.

back brake slow wheelies or 12s if you like are a bit of a head batterer when you first start out with them, but keep that back brake covered and keep tryin. oh this might help just to get used to fluttering that back brake try riding at say 10mph and fluffin that foot brake just to get the feel. lsitening to the engine whilst doing this can help too.

Congrat's! I've got the opposite problem... I feel comfortable clutching it up. However if I crack/power it up or bounce it up I don't feel that at ease with it.

Oh really? That only applies if you have a pizza pan sprocket...but then again most of those guys are still clutching it up.

As for myself I clutch everything from starting at 1mph to the 65mph freeway wheelies

Yeah, you have to learn to clutch it. That's all there is too it. You can't be rockin' slow wheelies in a parking lot, if you start off at 45mph!

I clutch everything except regular ole' standup's. But if I stand left foot back peg I clutch it. Kinda hard to bounce like that. Not that you really need to bounce a geared 1000 though.lol You'll get used to it, don't worry.
