salvage title
whats the big deal about a salvage title. the insurance lady called and told me my bike would have a salvage title if i bought it back, so how does this effect me? i dont plan on selling it again and i heard it makes it hard to get insurance? i left a message for the insurance lady but she wont respond till tomorow so what does a salvage title mean 2 me?

It only usually hurts when you sell it. If you aren't selling it then have no worries. Insurance don't want to give full coverage b/c they don't know how bad the bike has been wrecked and something may cause another accident like a bent frame and high speeds. But if you know that it wasn't in that bad of shape when you got in the accident I wouldn't worry at all.

SALVAGE INSURANCE
What you need to do is get a copy of the policy that you want to buy and read it. If there are no exclusions for salvage title then you are ok. Once the insurace company binds your bike and that vin for full coverage and no exclusions exist then they have no chioce but to cover it if wrecked.

oftentimes you have to 'reinspect' the bike once it has a salvaged title-it is called 'reconstructed'....something that is becoming a pain more and more....
my experience with this comes from argocycles.com (one of the nation's largest salvage motorcycle shop)
if it is your bike though already, it will prolly be easier....laws differ by state as well, and insurance SHOULD be the same as a non wrecked bike....

my 9 came with a rebuilt title.. the guy before me got cut off and hit someone.. he compleatly rebuilt the bike and its sweet.. he bought it back for like a grand put about a grand in it and then sold it to me (sucker) for 3400.. damn a deal

My boyfriend is Rick from the psycho boyz and we have a zx9 with a salvaged title. It had full coverage ins. through state farm. He wrecked the bike and we turned it in, they screwed our eyeballs out. In the end we had to cancel the claim or go to court. Also we didnt get any money back, they said the bike should have never been insured in the 1st place. STATE FARM IS AN EVIL EVIL COMPANY, I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THEM AGAIN!!!!!!

salvage title, you have to get it re-inspected and then you send your title off and get a rebuilt title.
i have mine through state farm, i have no problems with them about having a rebuilt title.

well it turns out instead of fileing for a salvage title ill be fileing for rape charges against my bank and insurance cause they are makin me practice grabin my ankels here. i would tell you the full story but its long and makes my head hurt, ill try to get it down to 3 words,.......... I AM FUKED, there we go. no bike for me
