Damper for stunting?

Hey everyone,

I've got a '03 R6 and I've been getting a little more radical in my tricks lately. Would you recommend a steering damper or am I fine without one. Now that I'm at higher speeds, I'm worried about a wobble when touching down. Should I be worried without one?

If so, which brand do you recommend?

Thanks

I went into a tank slapper once, and luckily stayed up, after that I purchased a daytona steering damper from www.stuntlife.com and haven't had any problems since. IMO yeah they are worth it.

Scott's seems to do me fine and it's right on your triple for easy adjustment.

it only takes one time and you'll realize why everyone runs a damper. do a search for the word "damper" and you'll probably find 300 threads about whats best and why.

I just bought a Scott's too and I love it. It's on the triple clamp so you can adjust on the fly. Fork mounts you either have to lean WAAYYY over and hope you can reach it in time (if you can reach it at all), or stop the bike and get off. Also, you can remove the Scott's in less than a minute to swap bikes or take it inside for safety. It's also super smooth. Ohlins makes the identical model (they both come off the same factory line) but I think theirs is more expensive (go figure). You can get a Scotts for about $400 new with mounting hardware on the internet so do your research if you plan to go this route. They are very popular and a lot of people try to make extra money off of them. Good luck.
