Losing Bolts???
Haven't heard anybody mention it, but i've lost a couple of bolts and peices on the bike, after only a month and a half. 1 - Radiator Cap. 2. 2 bolts that hold the main mount for the front fairings/headlight/whatever else is up there. Bad description i know. I do wheelies all the time and i guess thats probably why. Is this common? Talked to another guy with a new 1K like mine and he lost the same bolts. Watching your fairings jumping up and down at 140 isn't fun by the way. Guess i'll just keep checking em all. Later

My buudy has an 03 and one of the bolts fell out of his fairing stay. Just get a longer one and put an extra nut on the back of it. Radiator cap is a wierd one though. Someone must have left it loose for it to come off. If you ride it hard you prob. do need to go over the bolts once in a while just to be safe. Especially pegs and stuff like that.

i use locktite but dont use it anywhere it might come in contact with the paint. it will bubble the paint (been there, done that ) also you can find 99% of the nuts and bolts at a place like HomeDepo and save yourself a ton of money.

I just bought a shitload of zipties, and went over my whole bike. They don't work in all areas, but the places they do, they do a damn good job. Buy the long ones, then cut them down to size once they're in place. Get it done soon. I have cracks in my upper and one of my lowers now because I waited too long.

Your manual will tell you to do a pre-ride inpection every-time you ride. I do like a once a week deal. If you are stuntin' pretty hard the pre-ride thing is probably a good idea. At the very least once a month. Lock tite is also invaluable for retaining your stock hardware.

I've had two suzukis and they loose bolts all the time. The tail sections rattle like crazzy from doing stoppies. I agree with every one else. Zipties and locktight are a stunters friend. Check ur subframe bolts too cause they get loose as well.

I've lost a few bolts here and there, nothing a hardware store didn't have... zipties are the best... although a ziptie wouldn't have helped when i was doing about 120 and my stock bar end fell out and broke my toe...

dont use red loctite use the blue
red you may have to heat up the bolt to get it out
blue will hold but you wont have to worry bout gettin it out
I check my bolts at least once a week (cause Im usually workin on it at the same time)
