WTF do I do about the stupid *** exhaust valve in my 954?? Just sold my 900RR and bought this 954, and on my old junk I got 12 and slow **** on lock ( the 954 is geared -2+10) and with Idle up wheelies, that valve opens and my rpm shoot from 3 to 6 1/2!!!!,
my question is, should I take it out? will my bike run like garbage? what did yall do?????

I would ask Crazy Dan.... He should know.

.......haven't noticed that problem on my 929(heard about it though). Most people I know just replace their stock exhaust with a full system and it takes care of the problem.

no, i removed it on my old 929 and it didn't make low Rpm stuff any better..made it worse.
i rock slow stuff on my 929 with stock exhaust and have no problems.
i think i know what you are talking about, you are adjusting the idle up then out of nowhere it just jumps and revs high on you. here's what i do: slowly raise the idle, when you are raising it, blip the throttle and see where it settles to. if you dont blip the throttle, the first time you do youll notice hte rpms are higher than you had it before. usually when i get it to about 3krpms it sits fine, then i blip it and it jumps to 4500. that's where i leave it.

well, put it at 3k then.
slowly turn it up, like, turn it a little bit, then blip the throttle and see where it sits, then keep doing that until it's at 3k. there you go, 3k rpms.
