12 bar design, wider=better?
i'm running about 11" wide 12 bar and someone said to go to 15" wide. also, how tall should it be, like thickness. I think i'm going to cut mine down because isn't it easier to park the taller it stands? mine doesn't quite stand at 12 so i think that is hwat is throwing me off when i try to park.
anyways, i tried to search but it said i needed 4 letters and (12 bar) didn't count. let me know what you all use and have had luck with.

11 inches is perfect for a 12 bar. If your bar is too long then your bike won't balance well while on the tail. Try to get your bar set up so your bike is as close to 12 as possible. My bar on my 900RR isn't quite 12 but I have no problem with it.

ya, it's close, but i want it strait upa nd down, cause i'm having problems when i'm doing slow ****, i keep hitting the tail. i'm gonna cut it down another inch or maybe even 2 inches.

It'll be alot more stable when you shorten it up. WHen it's not quite to 12 it still has weight pulling it forward which makes it unstable. If it's past 12 then the weight is pushing it harder on the bar which= more stable. Just harder to scrape when it's short. You should see Merk CC's, his is only 1" off the subframe. Oh yeah don't go wider, don't wanna cut your leg off if somthing goes wrong.

thanks for the responses guys.
that's how i was thinking it would work, further back, more weight on bar verses weight on that wobbly tire so it's more stable.
and i've saw merc's bar....i think it's just there for a place to put a foot cause i don't see me scrape much, mostly just rocks some sick 800 foot coasters!
