Amatuer Vs. Pro
#2
My crew is all pro in Hawaii but i think only a few of us could hang the guys in the states. a video don't mean ****. shows, no one really wants to host them down here. and damn it! when we don't perform we don't get paid!

what up bg andy, I think you are pro when u run out of stunts and have to create your own stunts , and or you can go to a pro comp and hang with the big boys. but then again I guess my opinion doesnt count.

agreed with pro should mean that you do this for a living, it pisses me off to work all day then go practice when im tired from work. i would love to be able to go practice all day and do shows on the weekend, but if we all could do that then we all would be bad azz..........

the sport isnt big enough to have all the 'pros' only riding and not having part time jobs...
when you have the ALL AROUND SKILL to compete in FREESTYLE events and do well, then IMHO you are a 'pro'...
i'm sure there are plenty of guys out there who can roll longer endos or coasters than me, but that is all they can do.
Well rounded in everything is the only thing that is going to get you anywhere....

whew, teach made me feel better. i'm not rocking 900 foot coasters or stoppies, but i have a good stunt bag for every event, i have acrobatics, stoppies, wheelies, burnouts...the works, i can do many things in each category and some crazy stuff i like to do to wow a crowd.
i pretty much compete freestyle every comp i can make. if there is an amature class i'll compete in it cause i find myself to be fair in stunting, but if there isn't, i'll try to hang with the pros, i mean, it's not like it'll hurt me to try to keep up with them. and it adds copmetition to me cause i have to do good enough not to get booed![Smilie](https://www.stuntlife.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
but anywyas, i guess it's skill level. i don't think there are many riders out there that can make a full time living off of it. there are some, but not many. but i know there are plenty i call pros that don't make a full time living out of it.

Pro V.S. Amatuer
About a year and a half ago if you had a video out.....you were considered PRO......now, if you've competed and placed in the top 3 in more than 2 competitions or if you've been paid cash to do shows (your team performs at the local drag strip every Friday night). Then you're PRO.
But IMO if you're competing in amatuer and YOU don't feel challanged by your competion.....step up to the PRO catagory. If after that you feel out of your league take yourself back down.
I never competed as an amatuer ONLY because the guy I compete with had already placed in other shows and so I HAD to compete as PRO my first time out and that was SCARY. So whatever works for you.
