good answer. with the monster truck we have go through this stuff alot. it is a pain in the a$$ to deal with, but something that has to be done. we have gone as afar as having a company take pics from our website and use them on their packaging of a toy that was junk. when it's your image you don't want to be representing or be part of some junk or a negative issue. when i first got started i never thought i would ever have to through the protection of a image, name, likeness... this is one of those issues that everyone will look at differently..

yep, this is definately one of those subjects that will divide the room....everyone feels very strongly on both sides of the argument, so its best to understand the way the whole process works up front, and there won't ever be any surprises

Look at it this way. When that photographer snaps an awesome pic of you and/or your team. And it by chance ends up in a magazine. Yes, they got paid for that.......but can't you turn around and use that same magazine photo and get your team some sponsors. I know that Steve & I (CAT) from Evasive Actions have had some awesome pics taken of us and published in Asphalt and Cycle Dreams.....those magazines have pulled in CASH sponsors for us. So now we've probably made bigger $$ off those photos in the long run.
Yes, it happens here too.....people taking pics of you but it's FREE advertisement of you and your team. As long as it's not used to put a BAD spin on stunting or you......then chaulk it up to someone thinking you new worthy enough to shoot photos of. Believe me, the "bigger companies" like PEPSI......will contact the stunter/team ....... to talk business but one of those "Stolen" photos may have been what their teenage son had laying on the coffee table and the idea for a commercial popped into their head with YOU in it. If you ban the cameras.......that pic would never be seen....would it?
Just my .02 but then again I do stunts b/c I love it. But the fans are what make it exciting too. When you show up at a show and some little kids run over to you and want you to autograph this pic of you in their magazine......"priceless" is what comes to my mind.
