The way i look at it is people come and go, if u do anything to help or improve the sport then you deserve respect. Who really cares who started this who pioneered this stunt because there r people out there that have been doing stunts longer than probably all of us have been alive. My dad used to race dirtbikes before i was born and he used to ride slow wheelies (who knows if he was scrapping and what not) bottom line is who cares. Look at it this way there r probably 1 out of every 30 riders who can actually ride a countrolled wheelie so if you can scrape and do 500 ft endos then you have what it takes. Quit taking away from people what they can do. If you really know whats going on in the stunt world you know who can do what. Final point is if you are a pro down to learning how to ride a wheelie if you can do it awesome if you cant keep practicing.
