Easy wheelie light for 929 owners

I couldn't believe how easy this was..on the lowers of the 929 in the rear there is an oval hole and i had a left over driving light that i bought at autozone for 19.99 a pair and i replaced the bulb inside with a 100w bulb when i had them on my cage and it is oval as well...well i sized the light up with the hole and it is a perfect fit....i wired it to a switch (thinking of wiring to a mercury switch so when i start the wheelie the light comes on automatically and shuts off when i set it down ) so if anyone wants to do it get the small oval driving lights at autozone aor a parts dealer...the fit flush and you can't even see them on the bottom..here are some pics

Thats the same spot I put one on my gixxer. I have replaced the whole light thing 4 times. I dont know if rocks break the light or if it breaks from stoppies. Let us know how that comes out. Maybe I am just (and everyone else I know that has tried this) using crappy lights...

i did that a while ago, i put two lights under the upper... but i was hitting them doing stoppies with the side of the fender... and the abuse of being on a bike caused the bulbs to break, i thought of the mercury switch idea too, but couldnt find any or sale anywhere local... but it was cool cuz i bought a set of lights that were on a remote anyway, so i just put the clicker on my keychain or left it in my pocket...
but also think of this, if u wire ur headlights and ride with others just turn ur headlights off when u wheelie, then cops dont know if ur doing a wheelie...
heres a pic

How about using a tipover sensor from a wrecked bike for the switch. It might take some adjustment to get it at the correct angle but it should work for the off-on function.

Nice job on the wheelie light. I have one on my 98 gixxer. I to stuck it through a hole I cut in my belly pan. After 4 lights I recessed it so it did not stick through the hole. Went all summer with no trouble. Also instead of a fancy switch I used the relay kit that comes with the fog lights. Just hook up the trigger wire on the relay to your high beams. This way when you turn on the relay your light will be kicked on by your high beam switch. When you just want to use your brights only just turn off the relay.
