plate / tube subframe? flat bar / titanium block?

so I'm getting comfortable on one wheel, but my subframe is aluminum and i don't wanna snap it again. is there a big difference between tube / plate?

i know tube is stronger, but does plate have any advantages?

my frame itself is aluminum, and i feel like having some give in my subframe is a good idea, so I'm leaning towards plate; BUT.... i know I'll eventually crack my aluminum frame and replace it with a full tube steel frame.

on an additional note; i like the style of a flat 12 bar over the small titanium plate, is there a big difference? my first guess would be the small titanium plate will slide much smoother then a big steel flat bar.

as usual yall, thank you very much for any help.

Re: plate / tube subframe? flat bar / titanium block?

You definitely want your subframe to be made out of tube. Not just for strength, but for torsional rigidity. If it was made out of plate, L, or C channel, it would flex and start to oscillate back and forth when you drag it on the ground.

I feel that a big flat bar is only superior if youre into bar tricks. When youre dragging your tail, its the wheel that keeps you stable, not the bar itself.
