I used 1 5/8 steel from the local scrap yard when I built this cage for my zx6r

i just bought pieces here and there. i probably bought close to 20 feet just to mess around with bending it and in case i made any mistakes.

but you dont want to make your cage indestructable (spelled right???).. make it strong, but not unbreakable...
my idea of a cage is to protect the bike, ofcourse.. so u destroy the cage and the bike is still in great shape???

for the main pipes use 1/2 pipes, for the the one that goes to the motor mount use 1 1/4 tube.

I just built my own cage yesterday

i have build a few cages, and i have learned that the bike has to fall the thick pipe. the way your cage hits the floor is going to cause your bike to flip over on a strong fall, you dont want that. i hope you dont take it the wrong way just a helpfull opinion
