foldable or solid subcage??

I need to buy a subcage, leaning towards getting sick innovations or OMR but dont know if I should get foldable or solid. I know OMR only makes foldable. I dont want the solid to bend the first time it pancakes but I dont want the foldable to fold up on me and not be there when I step down. I heard you can cut some of the solid pegs down so they arent so long and it shouldnt hit enough to bend. Any suggestions???thanks

Re: foldable or solid subcage??

solid pegs do more harm then good , i have seen brand new solid peg subcages destroy the subframe and the subcage in one crash , a very common crash at that ..

folding peg subcages allow the pegs to fold in most crashes causing no damage ..

i rotate the peg mount brackets forward on their axis on all omr subcages so the pegs dont fold up on you while youre standing on them and if you dont trust the oem style peg locks to keep the pegs down while you arent standing on them you could always use a nut and a bolt instead of the stock pin and just run it a bit tight so the peg doesnt fold as easy ..

dont make it so tight that it cant fold in a crash though ..

just dont over do it or the peg wont be able to fold in a crash and more than likely cause you to break alot of pegs ..
