Saline County Cracks Down On Stunt Riders
HARRISBURG-- With hundreds of miles of roadway to patrol on a daily basis, Saline County deputies write a decent amount of traffic citations. But this summer they have a message for one particular group of motorists.
"We're just letting them know, a little friendly warning that you know, we're not going to have it, don't put us in a position, we wont put you in one," said Saline County Chief Deputy Todd Fort. "So operate like you've got some sense and no one goes to jail
This warning comes after complaints about motorcycle riders performing stunts throughout the county. Fort says deputies have arrested four people in the last week, and they don't have any mercy for those caught doing tricks.
"I've discussed this problem with the state's attorneys office, and told them that you know, we're going to take a no-tolerance stand on that, we don't want any fatalities, we don't want any injuries," Fort said.
Offenders can expect jail time, a hefty fine, and a drivers license suspension. But Fort says strict enforcement beats the alternative.
"If you're doing something reckless, and your skull hits the ground at 65, 70 miles an hour, you're not coming back from that one, so why tempt the fate?"

Re: Oops gotta little out of hand!
All the problems in this world and there worried about someone doin a wheelie. i see where they are coming from about the deaths and injuries but thats all part of riding and we all know the dangers and or w.e else could happen but why are they gonna put us in the spot to where we gotta get out of a high chair and then run! Re: Oops gotta little out of hand!
Yeah man Im pretty fed up with law enforcement. We know the dangers however, they put us in the situation of having to run. which puts everyone in wayy greater danger having a police car chasing someone on a motorcycle. If a car wrecks there is going to be others more than likely involved in the wreck. Were in the most danger we have nothing to protect us but we understand that. I live in the mtns and the big thing here is riding the roads which are beautiful. Now their patroling the mtns like crazy, setting up road blocks, hidding in turns, chasing anything and everyone. Dont they have anything better to do? Just my
