F4i bogs outs and dies when riding
my 01 f4i is running good one second then will bog out when you gas it to the point of just stalling out. then you start it up again and it will be normal then 30 seconds later start to die out, and bog and stall out and ****. It sounded like my fuel pump was going so I swapped it out with the pump from my 03 f4i and it does the same ****. on idle it will drop and then go normal and drop and go normal etc. At one point the bike was like dead, and lights wouldnt go on or nuthin. Somethin electrical? Any ideas? I checked fuses one was blown but replacing it did nothing.

check the battery terminals first. Put a multi meter on the terminals while its idling at stock idle, what voltage are you getting? if you have bad power output due to a dying stator or regulator its POSSIBLE it create this condition. I assume you have done nothing to the bike recently? Did you perform the clean air mod? Did you do it correctly as described on here? I have heard of some people doing it *** backwards and creating crank pressure which wouldnt allow the bike to start and it would lack power when running.

Re: F4i bogs outs and dies when riding
I did kleen air mod maybe a year or two ago and ridden a bunch since then with no problems. This happened last month,I havent ridden it since and I just got to switching the fuel pumps today and no dice. Nothing new has been done to the bike in awhile now aside from tires and **** like that. I'll test battery
