Have a few questions

I have an 04 r1 and Im still trying to improve my wheelies.

Any more pointers for stand ups..I just seem to keep chasing them..Any pointers to improve them..

Also whats the best way to throw my feet over the bars...I usually sit on the tank then put one leg over at a time.

Re: Have a few questions

do you have a cage?? because if your scared of wreaking then you will never get to bp cause of that. Plus you just need to keep at it, i cant offer too much more than that cuz atm i have a hard time explaining stuff. the more you tell us about your bike and set up it will also help us give you better advise. pics and vid might help too. as far as doing hc's there is a couple ways, just like you are. then like me i use the cage to hop over the bars or you just jump to it. im sure theres other ways and maybe better too.

but just keep at it, practice every chance you get and you will get there

Re: Have a few questions

These pics were taken on a good day..I cant always get them this smooth..Im 6'5 so I really cant lock my legs.

My bike is just an 04 r1 -1 +2...I think I should really get a cage..I used to have a stunt bike but I didn't like it very much.

Re: Have a few questions

just learn throttle control man that feeling you get in the pit of your stomach when you think your gonna go backward when you get that feeling keep it there. cause that is prolly balance point i know when i did street wheelies before i started stunting when i got that feeling i would let it come back forward and wouldnt keep at it but i have to say that when you get that feeling keep it there.

Re: Have a few questions

i know this will sound crazy but try to when you go out clutch it up and before it gets very high jab the rear brake hard enough to set it down do that for 10-15 clutch ups and you will start using/covering it just get used to thinking about using it and not just chasing the wheelie just sayin

No sounds good..Thats why I posted maybe there was something I could do to get used to it..

So your saying clutch it up and use the rear brake to bring it down?...Should I stay in the throttle?

Re: Have a few questions

what slideways said for sure, thats what helped me on the streets bk in the day w brake control, figure out how hard u have ta stab the rear brake ta drop ur bike then from there it is seat time, i wouldnt consider jumpin ta high chair at all rt now, u r on an r1, if u dont have a hanbrake its gna be harder ta control off the peg wheelies

well you said that you want to put your feet over the bars so thats wat i was figuring you wanted lol but i just usually jump to it from the pegs. but deff keep at it you'll get it. from the pic i would also back off of the tank, or inother words quit ******* the tank lol. you will get and keep bp better if your off the tank and keep your legs straightend.

Re: Have a few questions

I was out today riding a few wheelies and I took my ***** with me and rode it out..I still have to keep my legs bent if there strait seems like im pushing the front down..I have to move my rear brake up because its down to far now for me to get a hold of it..I know I was close to bp because I was steering them..

sry wat i ment when i said straighten out is not to stand up but to stick your *** out. like when you stand on your pegs with your hands on the controls when your just riding down the road. you kinda want that kind of body position when you bring the front end up. but keep on at it, you'll get there. its was nice to know you finally decided you needed your ***** . like its always said practice, practice, practice.
