wheelies?

Re: wheelies?
I have 03 954 and usually pick it up between 50-75. Second gear is absolutely perfect for highway wheelies on stock gearing 954. I am waiting for my T15 to come in and then will try todo it in 3rd.

Re: wheelies?
what you're say is that you can clutch and ride a 2nd gear wheelie. but you want to know how the other guys are ride the wheelies down the highway for miles and miles. the anwser is these guys can get it to the bp and can keep a steaded throttle. theres really not much of a diffrencae bewteen the streets and highway. me since the highway is going faster would do a stand up in third around 60ish with a bounce and clutch it to the bp and maintain it around 70ish for miles. but do it late a night when theres no one on the highway. so when yo dump it your not ran over by a big rig, and so theres no one else around to kill. so be like most of you smarter stunts and just take it to a lot. (any bike will wheelie in stock gearing from a 250 cruser to a 1300 busa)

Re: wheelies?
I have a 06 cbr600rr and i need help on riding wheelies in 2nd gear what should i do? Is it easier to ride a wheelie standing up or sittin down? Should i go up in the rear if so to what? And should i go down in the front if so to what?

Re: wheelies?
I was pulling my 99 900RR up at 70MPH in 4th! a good pre load bounce, pull clutch, give throttle extra 4 R's, release clutch and up. So your 954 will do it you just have to get past the pucker factor and COVER YOUR REAR BRAKE!!!!!! Can't stress that enough. And mos def get a CRF 50 and learn balance and brake control on that 1st. Or find an empty lot (take a friend to call 911 if **** goes sour) and just practice 1st gear wheelies. Once again cover your rear brake. But gotta watch highway wheelies man people like to call cops on ya or try to run you off the road while up on one. Be safe...

Re: wheelies?
I've only just come to terms with it in 1st gear at 5-10mph lol.

Due to the stupid pegs on the RR i'd say sitting down is easier.

Re: wheelies?
i was clutchin it up in second around 30 mph with my 03 r6 with stock gearing. im assuming u could increase the speed and still do them but i didnt have the bike for log so idk. i did them sitting down but standing staggered is prefered by a lot of people

Re: wheelies?
if u clutch it up or pow pow it, it will gain speed until you reach bp then its throttle control an brake.... if your maintaining the same speed your at bp thats all there is to it

Re: wheelies?
Keep doing it in first.
Use your rear brake to put down EVERY wheelie, gets you in the habit for when you really need to use it.
Trick is to clutch it up to BP from a stand still.

Re: wheelies?
I clutched the 929 staggered @ 15 to 20 mph on stock gearing in 2nd gear.
I learned bp on the 929 with stock gearing in 2nd gear
You don't need a smaller bike to learn bp just unzip your vagina, let your nuts hang out and go for it.
It's funny watching some of the local riders talking about how they hit bp but are constantly on the gas and their foot isn't covering the brake, it's cocked to the side.

Re: wheelies?
Ugh I thought the same about my 954. Others say they can roll on hard in 2nd and it'll pop up. Not mine. Others say they can lay on the gas tank and clutch up 2nd and it comes up. Not mine. 2nd gear sitdowns I have to be way back on the seat and it still comes up slow. 2nd gr stand ups are fine. 3rd gear hasn't happened, last time I tried I got the tankslapper of a lifetime. I'm replacing the clutch with a snappier one witch will probably make a big difference.
