03 636 frame repairable??

i crack my frame from when i had to bail in a circle not even dropping it hard. so much for the new powder coating job this sick cage makes my bike hit hard as **** on the motor mounts (atown you'll be hearing from me soon). im not sure if it can be repaired or is it a waste of time and money? what do you think??

A good welder will make light work of that. Just make sure to look on the inside of the frame and see what the situation is on the back side.

Re: 03 636 frame repairable??

mine did that same thing, I had a FI cage tho. never heard about sick cages doing this.

I was just going to weld mine up and powder coat it.

I have heard about people bracing 636 frames anybody know anything about this?

That did not happen from one crash that was a on going problem before it broke like that. Maybe loose motor mount bolts also

+1... if your motor adjusters arent tightened like they should b and you just bolt the large bolt in it will cause a weak point in your frame/motor... my f4i frame did this and it was caused by improper adjustment of the motor adjusters from the frame to the motor

Re: 03 636 frame repairable??

its not the motor mount bolts... its the adjusters that adjust the motor to the frame... if you dont have those torqued down or at least good n tight it could cause this

its hard for them to come use if you did it right but you have to take your right side motor mount bolts out loosen that nut and you tight the bolt with like a 8mm allen key till it tighten all the way toward the engine and tighten that nut back down here is pic i believe this is what he is talking about

Re: 03 636 frame repairable??

they all do this at some point in time alot of it has to do with the bike slamming down not so much the impacts from the side. that is y the crack usually starts up front from the frame flexing. i have a really good welder over hear that just welded David Boyds frame up real nice. ill put some pics up in a min but he can do it for a good price. but stop riding that thing before it gets worse.
