Hey i have done quite a few now,
Here are some pics of my bike , i brace under the main spar as well
but the pic is not very good. There is also a plate on the side of the frame, I have never broke a frame since.
I drop it alot too so it works well.

mine is all done up had a guy here in iowa do it he did some bomb *** work for me. my frame was cracking just like yours was i quit riding it and got it fixed just got the motor back in so it will get tested out tonight man

your not gonna believe me but my buddys dad did it with all aluminum he had laying around from a customer and welded it up in a weekend. it cost me a $20 bottle of mccormicks vodkabut he couldnt drink it til my welds were finished 
everywhere else wanted around 200

I get the buddy hook up on TIG jobs too. a riding buddy had his 03-04 636 frame crack similar to yours. I had him go see my friend that does race car fabrication and he was quoted $100 to repair and add gussets to brace the frame.

Yo I asked bout the title b4 but I ran short on $ but yeh damn bro ifu wasn't so far I'd say bring her to me n if yall payin $500 to get a frame crack welded then ya needa bring yo **** to me! I weld all the local riders **** round here n I work at griffin radiator buildin/weldin high end customs for show cars I also did the red bull Subaru rally car so if it's aluminum it's my specialty n I got pics of the **** i've done so if ya interested lemme know...I could have it fixed it no time and cheaper than anyone else...

my guy uses 1/4 aluminum plating for all of it most use 1/8in

Only reason $500 was brought up was cuz I seen someone say earlier n this thread that's what they thought was charged...hell i'd that **** for $100 but yeh makes no difference if I fixed it or not. And yeh I used 1/4 inch on mine also 1/8 is weak.

I also broke my 636 frame with a sick cage could not find my hand brake so I bailed but it was only my third time in a lot so I want to see pics of suppers if any body has any.

Ya I'm just looking for a quick fix to get back on my bike. I'm sellin my title and grabbing a static moto frame when I save up for sure!
