Going to agree with the others that said the bolts weren't tight enough. I've pancaked my SI cage numerous times and it has nothing but some scarring to show for it, still straight. Gotta torque **** down properly, hell my A-town subframe came loose a couple weeks back because i didn't torque it down enough and tapped it a couple of times(not the time I tweaked it for you guys aware of that). A2k said he about gave himself a hernia torquing it down, so I went back and did the same. All was bueno. My cage has come loose a few times, only on the all thread bolt though that passes through the frame, been good about checking that one.

u didnt use a 4ft breaker bar... lol. I stripped a nut on the backside of the motor with a ratchet. Nice thing about kawis u can just put a new nut in. But yeah, if u have a 4ft breaker bar anywhere near your bike put down the tools and walk away...

the old si crash cage design for the 636 was very weak i have seen them bend with the bolts tight from very easy drops but the new design looks like it fixed all the problems of the old design so it is very possible he had all the bolts tight but with that being said alot of cages will loosen up after a hard hit , easy thing to do is too bang on your cage a few times with your hand after a crash to see if it rattles , i bang on my own cage every night before i ride just to make sure it's tight
