F4 help

Has anyone ever put an F4I upper on an F4 before and used an F4 upper stay to use stock gauges? I have an F4I upper stay but want to use my gauges and can't figure out how to mount them. So I am thinking that the stays are pretty much the same except the way the head light mounts and I will work around that??? Any help???

Re: F4 help

So I take it no one has ever put an F4I upper on a f4 and used their gauges? I wish the plug was the same for f4I gauges as the f4 gauges. Are they?

Re: F4 help

The stays look almost the same except the mounting of the headlight. The tabs are almost all gone thanks to the douche bag that sent me a supposedly minty headlight. Not to mention the minty upper that was broke and practically has no where to mount. Here is a few pics of the stays, The F4 stay I have is bent all to hell and tweaked in every direction. I just wonder if the F4i upper will mount up to the F4 stay. Then the rest will fall into place, I think.

Re: F4 help

im not sure what tabs the f4 gauges mount to in the pic (never had an f4) but if its those lower ones you might be able to get a piece of steel strap like half inch or 3/4 and bolt it to the f4i lower stay, drill holes in it to screw your gauges to. that seems like the easiest thing to me if you dont have access to a aluminum welder...just a thought or maybe use the f4 stay and have it modded to fit the f4i upper, only need top tabs for upper and two tabs for headlight, i have zip ties from my headlight assemb. to my stay the holds most of the weight of my headlight, but then you still would need a welder thats the best i can do w/o haveing the parts in hand bud.... sry
