it wouldnt prime if it were the tip sensor... u obviously have no spark, check see if you get spark from the plugs

coolant temp sensor, mine was doin the same thing til beardo told me bout it. its got three wires. one of mine was cut but would contact every now and then letting it start. mine has brand new plugs new fuel pump bypassed tip sensor and all... checked the coolant temp sensor sure enough that was it. doesnt miss a lick now. you have any probs finding it hit me up ill try to point you in the direction.

well not entirely true... it will fire just hard starting when cold, funny thing is after i told buck about this problem the very next time i tried to start my bike it didnt want to start!!! same thing..... but mine would fire if i massaged the throttle a little, then slowly get itself running, once it was warmed up it ran fine, there is a three wire plyg directly below the throttle bodies, it goes to the coolant system, cant remember what it is called but if that is the prob your fi light will be stuck on, assumeing you have a cluster. this prob does not kill your spark.

Re: F4i help

really need to know if your having a fuel, or spark issue! narrow that down, then it will be a lot easier to diagnose the problem.

Re: F4i help

if the pump primes then it is a spark problem. a couple years ago i had a weird problem where i had fuel and spark but the bike wouldnt run. once oi looked at the plugs more i found the insolator had cracked on all of them at once and the spark was firing side ways...bike wouldnt start. i replaced the plugs and the thing started and havent had a problem since.. that one took me awhile to figure out.

if you have a manual your best friend is the flow charts. follow them and youll find your problem in no time
