2008 R6 Dies when Put In Gear!!
I just swapped a motor into my 2008 R6. All the Harness is plugged in and all the fuses are OK... Now heres the problem: I put the Bike in Nuetral with the Kickstand Down and it starts right up... Now i put the kickstand up and Throw it in 1st and it just dies. The lights are still on and it wont crank over unless its in NUETRAL. I switched the Nuetral switch from my old motor and NOTHING... Please Help ASAP... I dont need any **** talking about it being a Yamaha n ****... Just a straight up answer

Im about to cut n splice the wires.. see if that works... Uggghhh im just pissed off its been a hassle getting this motor and finally finding time to do the Swap... Now that i have it in there, this BS problem pops up... Ill be back with a Answer in 10min

Check the clutch switch also.It might not be pluged in it would do the same thing on some bikes. I had a r6s do this to me one time but I didnt have time to mess with it so I bypassed both the kickstand and the clutch switch and I worked fine. But try to fix it the right way first.

With the factory clutch switch unplugged - the bike will only start in Neutral.
If you bypass your clutch switch, the bike can be started in gear regardless of kickstand up or down.
If you take a stock bike and start it, it will run in neutral on the kickstand. If you put the bike in gear before raising your kickstand, it will shut off the motor.
So check that your Neutral light comes on when the bike is in neutral.
The clutch switch will not make the bike shut off once running - it only requires you to pull in the clutch to start the motor when the bike is in gear, such as stalling out from a stop.
As for testing... those switches only have 2 modes. Open or Closed. Complete the electrical circuit (on), open the circuit (off).
