could have caught my house on fire!
ya, so my dumb *** has my bike in a spare room in the house....only cuz i dont have a garage and i need to work on it while its cold so i dont spend too much ride time working on it.... anyway i have a f3 with the stock/regular gas shut off and the **** is big and easy to turn... well i just had the tank resting on the bike with the hose disconnected....i was putting on the tail fairing and bumped the **** and gas started pouring out. so i shut off the valve and rolled the bike over a old rug so the gas would drip on it and not the hardwood floor......BUT... when i rolled it the headlight started turning on and off... and was making a popping noise like there was a short somewhere in the wire harness......not good when gas just got done leaking everywhere....could have been really bad!!! so now i got to figure out where this damn short is coming from.....someone rigged up a start button so i bet thats where its coming from

Good luck with that...I just finished eliminating uneeded wires on my f4ez,electrical is always a pain in the dick to figure out.start at your battery terminals, they could be loose...

Re: could have caught my house on fire!
lol..... ya that **** sucked..... i'm worried about doing anything to it now.... every time i move it there is popping coming from somewhere in the harness... even with the key out, so its got to be a power wire from the rigged up start button... it has no gauges but has all the wiring bundled up and tucked away so i need to pull that all apart and go through it..... since its cutting in and out from movement i bet if i go out riding it it will just lose its power while i'm in the middle of a wheelie or something.... that would suck bad.. so got to get it fixed
