Re: FI light

Chances are it's either the exhaust valve servo or the throttle body servo. Needs to be in dealer mode to get the code. Codes listed below.

C14 - THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR
C15 - ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR
C21 - INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR
C22 - ATMOSPHERIC PRESSURE SENSOR
C23 - TIPOVER SENSOR
C24 - IGNITION SIGNAL #1
C25 - IGNITION SIGNAL #2
C26 - IGNITION SIGNAL #3
C27 - IGNITION SIGNAL #4
C28 - SECONDARY THROTTLE VALVE ACTUATOR
C29 - SECONDARY THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR
C30 - SECONDARY THROTTLE CONTROL UNIT
C31 - GEAR POSITION SENSOR
C32 - INJECTOR SIGNAL #1
C33 - INJECTOR SIGNAL #2
C34 - INJECTOR SIGNAL #3
C35 - INJECTOR SIGNAL #4
C41 - FUEL PUMP CONTROL SYSTEM
C42 - IGNITION SWITCH SIGNAL
C46 - EXHAUST CONTROL VALVE ACTUATOR
C00 - NO FAULT

Re: FI light

how do u get the code? all that shows up is a solid red light, then says FI , then CHEC.

Re: FI light

It could also be as simple as a loose injector connection but if that was the case I would think you would feel it lose power from a cylinder not firing, and are you running a PC III or any type of fuel managment system???

Re: FI light

I had an 06 gsxr600 and it came on when I put on the 2bros pipe, started every ounce in a while then stayed on. 13,000 miles later it was still on, never made a difference lol even sold it with it on. dealer said could be a few things. never cared.

Re: FI light

If it still runs good I would just ignore it.

There's good chance that the PCIII or a bad Oxygen sensor(if your bike has one) is what's causing it to light up,Just because the light is on don't mean there's a serious problem. The fuel map that's installed on the PCIII could be way off and confusing your ECU therefore throwin a code. You could either have a bike shop dyno tune it so the air/fuel ratio is at 14.7:1"stoich" at W.O.T. which is ideal or for regular gasoline combustion engines.Or you can adjust the PCIII yourself if you have an accurate air/fuel ratio gauge.

Here's an example...let's say your ratio reads 13.9:1 it means your runnin "rich"(too much fuel or not enough air)so take your PCIII and take out some fuel.

Or if the ratio is high... let's say 15.3:1 then your runnin "lean"(not enough fuel or to much air)So have the PCIII Add more fuel.

An oxygen sensor monitors that ratio and automaticly has the ECU compensate the fuel to get the ratio close to 14.7:1

My 03 R-1 had the same problem and we fixed it through the PCIII.

!! Naw, I've just had GSXR's for many years so I know where to look. Plus since I've owned so many I've seen just about every problem and know most of the error codes by heart. Sad, I know.......

Pull the code(s) and you'll know the problem for sure. I've seen loose battery connectors cause errors codes also. It's usually a pretty simple fix. Start simple. Check the basics, then pull the codes.
