I think a back protector and helmets are good ideas to ride this sharped edged marvel... :D

Its 8:50AM here... im heading to the workshop to keep working on the beemer... here are the pics from D-Day+6 (March 9)

Heres the update photos from "D-Day + 6" (March 9)

The 12 o´clock plate TIG welded...

The plate, already bent (110º with an hidraulic press) Showing its soon-to-be-definite position.

Drilling the holes on the plate to bolt it to the frame...

Trimmed tail section fairing... still needs 2 pieces of something (aluminum, rubber, plastic???) to cover the holes left by the luggage rack...

Installed plate (still needs to be powder coated, and some griptape will be added... also thought about a bolted on sub-plate to scrape and not having to make an entire new plate in a couple months/years/decades :D)

Re: BMW F800 Stunt Projekt, WHAT YA THINK???

First off, u do good work. looks very nice, and im pumped i got to give u a little advice on the bar. lol

ill post some pics of my cf plate on my f4i tonite. i drilled/tapped and added a titanium scape plate similar to CP's plate. looks a bit cleaner than my kawi's.

one thing to keep in mind is the strength of the sub where it mounts.

i use mine for stalls and stuff, and just that force actually broke my sub at a weak point in the far back. i had it all welded and braced so its good now. just somethin to think about.

im actually gonna scrap my kawi bar and machine a CP plate outta billet and have it welded on.

Re: BMW F800 Stunt Projekt, WHAT YA THINK???

Some photos of the process... the subframe cage/stuntpegs are about to be ready, just need to weld together another fixation point to the subframe...

Dead Haro bars :D

Some plates welded to a piece of BMX handlebar :D

The idea is this... need to weld these two little pieces together and go on with peg placement...

Re: BMW F800 Stunt Projekt, WHAT YA THINK???

very nice. Crazy idea with the bars but looks like it will work nice.

FYI, if u take a hairdryer/heatgun to griptape it gets stretchy like vinyl wrap. THat would work nice on those pegs...

keep postin, love the bike.

Re: BMW F800 Stunt Projekt, WHAT YA THINK???

The bars only clear the fairings of the tail section, tomorrow ill weld some bolts so i can put some knurled aluminum BMX pegs... Plastic pegs are also a good idea that will take the stress of a bail away from the subframe... but those are too nes to the sport and pricey over here...

Re: BMW F800 Stunt Projekt, WHAT YA THINK???

yeah, i made a bunch of alum grooved n knurled pegs for our subframes, but i wanna buy a bar of delrin and run that for pegs with griptape on it. I think it might take a lil outta the impact.

Re: BMW F800 Stunt Projekt, WHAT YA THINK???

Preserving the bike is a really important feature over here...spare parts are hard to get, and pricey as helll, maybe ill go for custom made delrin pegs, wrapped in slateboard grip.

Re: BMW F800 Stunt Projekt, WHAT YA THINK???

delrin is super cheap on ebay, but i heard there is a huge difference between the grades, and the price goes up quick. I think the more expensive stuff will be more rubbery and not shatter.

Homemade Subcage and 12 plate painted and installed... and skate griptape already on it :D

Upgrade to the broken inyection ramp... It was broken from the beggining, when the bike started poured fuel all over the place... so i took it off and make some epoxy magic :D
