DB bars vs Clip-ons
Hey guys, i'm turning my old mini road racer YSR into a mini stunter, and i'm trying to debate if i should shell out some $ for modding a DB set up to fit?
Pro's & con's would great.
Problems i'm having with the clip-ons is they are killing my wrist and banging up my tank pretty good. and i think DB bars would help keep the bike from getting as torn up.
Tossed the stock 50cc 2smoke and stuck an xr80 motor in there, at least for now untill i can find an xr100 motor to swap it out with.

Re: DB bars vs Clip-ons
the way the top clamp is, it does not actually clamp to the top of the forks, but pretty much is just compressed on by the clip ons. (which bolt to the top clam, not the forks) kinda confusing (see pic)
i can order an allum. top clamp that does actually clamp, but its an $80 i dont have right now.

bumpage, so my options are, stay with the stock, spend about $120 for a new top clamp and clip-ons, or just jack the bars off my dirtbike and stick them on there for free.

I'ld go for the aftermarket top clamp and clip-ons......start savin, bro! I think that would work out best for you in the end.
......and don't pay any attention to Guru....he didn't even read your post, I'm sure. He just assumed it was another DB vs. Clip-on thread.

yeah, i cant just turn the clipons out, they will slide around (they dont bolt to the forks) so i'll just go ahead and do the db bars, and if i jack anything up, i'll just get the top clamp and some allum. clipons, cuz i have everything i need already to add the db bars.

Re: DB bars vs Clip-ons
well i decided to try out some low profile bars i picked up, chopped the ends off a little so it wouldnt stick out as wide, but looks arlight. and if anything goes wrong, its just an excuse for me to buy some new allum. top clamps and clipons.
what ya think? (just a mock up right now)
its not perfectly straight, but i dont think it will be noticeable when riding, and i'm sure after a few drops its gonna be bent to hell anyway.
