Whats up with the 05 636 ???
I wanna know why no one really likes the 05-06 models of the Kawasaki 636 for stuntin. I need to upgrade to a better bike than my gxsr...there are 4 of them in my area and they are all under 2 grand stunt ready, but everybody says they suck and you wont like them cause they are small and fragile.... What is up with this bike, is this true or is it all just opinions???? is needed on this one.....

Re: Whats up with the 05 636 ???
thers alot of ppl that love the 05/06.
and look at whos telling you this. first, have they owned one? second was the bike a piece of **** in general. you cant get a feel of how a bike really is unless you buy it in mint condition and set it up correctly. also some ppl just dont like getting used to new bikes so they get mad when they try a bike and it feels wierd so they hate it.
ive owned an 05 and an 06 636 both mint unstunted bikes when i bought them and they are amazing bikes. doesnt mean other bikes arent just as good. 05/06 runs best with the stock exhaust and valve intact and in working order. yes the subframes are weak, i was lucky on my 06 and never broke it but my 05 i broke twice. the stock exhaust is very nice as a scrape bar. yes the rearsets are weak, cut the pegs down 1/4 inch on each side and remove the peg feelers and they will never hit the ground with a cage on it therfor will never break. other than that its just as solid a bike as any ive had. and the throttle smoothness is second to none, and ive owned em all.

Re: Whats up with the 05 636 ???
I have a minty 05 636 for the street and i love it. It pulls really hard on idle with stock gears and the balance point feels good. As soon as I quit crashing all the time I will get rid of the f4i and get another 05-06 636 for a stuntbike.

Only thing I broke on a 05-06 636 is rearsets and subframe. well the stator cover too but thats cause my cage was bent.
I use the woodcraft rearsets cut down and they are SOLID, havnt broke in a year.
As for the subframe, they are weak but the stock exhaust helps it out alot. You really need to hit it hard a couple of times before you need to worry about it breaking. Good thing is, they are real cheap to buy off e-bay or even from the dealer.
My other prob is the cam chain tensioner, replace it with a cheaper and better aftermarket manual adjuster in less then 20min and never look back.
But as for being small Im 6'4" and find the RR smaller?

Re: Whats up with the 05 636 ???
i loved my 03.......... then i rode my buddies 05 and i want one bad now. i really like how the tail is shaped compared to the 03/04. its so easy to walk all over. beef up the subframe and you shouldnt have any problems. plus if you start with an 05/06 you wont have to swap the front end out like you do on an 03/04.

Re: Whats up with the 05 636 ???
I dont think they are small at all, tons of space and room
I wanted to beef up the subrame but Im waiting to see if anyone snaps the frame mounts first
Would much rather swap out a cheap *** subframe then get a new frame
Anyone have any problems with their steel sub frames yet?

Re: Whats up with the 05 636 ???
05-06 tanks are poop - they sit high and you can't dent them that well. That is the sole reason I wouldn't own one.

Re: Whats up with the 05 636 ???
only [rob i find is with a tank dent you might end up with gas ***....sumtimes fuel leaks when brought back past balance point, ive tried different tank too and different caps, im told a votex would fix that...other wise A+
