yup. and the other difference is this is a small community where you either do the right thing or get put on blast and have it affect your future business which I certainly hope this thread did that...

However, if a small business has a 30 day return policy, shipped your items in a timely manner (even if it's the wrong thing), and 4 months later you want to return it they probably aren't going to take it back even if they are in business. If they've gone out of business, defaulted on a loan, lines of credit, lease, (if not a vehicle and personal residence too) and are being sued by multiple entities it's obvious they can't keep up with all of their obligations, what do you expect? You can't get blood from a turnip. When the money is all gone and everything comes crashing down they're done. You aren't the only person in line wanting money and there is none. Just be happy you only lost $85 and not $850, $8500, $85,000, or $850,000 etc. etc.

Oh no doubt - I understand that all too well unfortunately. I was just posting this thread so people are aware of the fact he screws people. And by posting this thread I now realize it wasnt only me who got screwed - a **** load of people got screwed with these bs sprockets.

Maybe it's because the only business I've run is a motorcycle business, but if there is one thing I've noticed over the years it's that most people in the motorcycle business are **** poor businessmen. This goes for auto performance shops and custom car builders too.
I think very few set out to take advantage of people, but MANY get in over their heads and just aren't capable of doing good business.
They start taking money from new customers just to take care of old customers and before long the dominoes start falling.
It's not too hard to keep things going when the economy is booming, but once it falters **** goes downhill really fast.

not entirely true. I bought a car stereo from circuit city about 3 monts before they went out of business. I bought the 4 year extended warranty($1400 in car audio and then 120 to insure it for 4 years couldnt be passed up). About a month ago, the amp toasted itself. Guess what. I called up the number on my receipt. it gave me a different warranty number. called that one, and now i have a brand new amp in my truck even though they have been out of business for a while now.

Yup plus Circuit City has Millions of dollars set aside and tons of inventory left to cover stuff like this in the bankruptcy proceedings. A small business goes under and there is nothing but claims and liens aganist them.
Its a tough business to run and depends on your market. We are in NY and unless your a Dealership, most accessory and parts companies are not going to make it in a seasonal market here. Even trying to do custom work aand stuff its tough.
We are an online company only to reduce and keep our overhead to a minimum and lets us keep going here in NY =)
