hauling

so thinking about buying some kind of truck to haul both my bikes. one to the track on race days. (drag) might as well haul the other bike to to the lot. (so i can have my big sprocket).

i am interesed in this-
1995 e-150
132000 miles
cd player
clean motor v8 and trans (no ticks or knocks, pulled dipstick oil looks normal)
dries nice
new tires
everything works
(open cargo area/ no boxes/ no shelves)
(not actual van)
$1500 he aid but think i can get im to $1200

i know it will work but what do you use. o and i am not hauling a trailer. i drive a 95 saturn, 3 in dropd. want sumthing for the winter months.

i thought it was gonna be bad,low gears it wants to spool hard and fast... but when cruising I wasnt makin any boost at all on the interstate about 80mph. I was suprised how good it actually does, but its got more power and better brakes than most trucks. only problem is just the wieght but that trailor didnt push me around at all.

Re: hauling

i would love an enclosed trailer, but my pick up works fine for me. i normally fit my wr250x (or my old 900rr), 636, fiddy, my buddys fiddy, and a ramp. we fill the back seat with bike stands, parts, gear, tool....ect
so 2 big bikes and 2 small bikes - in my 05 king cab ford F150

Re: hauling

I used to haul my bike with a vw jetta 16vdohc 4cyl. Worked great. A small trailer and 1-2 bikes and you only could feel it when youd stop.

Re: hauling

I took my 03 super duty to ROC this year pulling a 20 ft enclosed trailer and was only getting 7MPG that ******* sucked but ROC was totally worth the expense of fuel

I pulled a 4'x6' trailer and bike with my old 96 Saab 900 4cyl.....now I use my 06 Nissan Altima 3.5 SE to pull it......the 4cyl you could feel it a little, but I don't even notice it back there with the V6.....

Re: hauling

No more trucks or vans for me. Had the astro had the ram 1500 and both sucked on gas. The future is going to be the same if not worse when it comes to gas guzzlers. Im trailer all the way now. I can use it with any gas efficient car we have or may have in the future!!!

come on, THEY BUILD JETS!

plusi want something that i can move my stuff around with cause i live in an apartmentand will likely mov out again bafre buying a house. and i can always buy a lil trailer later too and trailer a couple of my buddies bikes with it. nice to have something enclosed, like a van or a box truck.

my car, van, two bikes on insurance are going to be $150 a month. so that is all good. thought it would b more, but hppy with that.

my family has a house in florida i would like to travel down to and ride around there, but i am not riding to florida.... take 3 days. rather just drive one. and the vn will get lik 15-18 mpg so its not eve that bad. with a few lil other things i dont think 15 mpg all the tie would be hard to achieve.

hmmmmm wat to do............

Re: hauling

i think when it comes time to sell my truck (94 ford ranger 4cyl 5 speed) im going to get a car. i always wanted i big *** badass truck but theres no point. harder to park and horrible on gas and someone will always have a bigger one than you so theres no point lol. id rather have a car that i can still have fun with. i want a nissan 350z. they are NA 6 cylinder cars that wouldnt hesitate to pull a little trailer with a 400 lb bike at all.but aluminum trailers are expensive as hell!
