Re: new motor problems???

Is it making any noise? if so it could be the cam chain tensioner... Mine was loose as a crack *****, and louder than hell and did the same ****. Once i snugged her down the bike ran great.

Re: new motor problems???

the fuel pump is most likely bad.. seen it many times on the gixxers...

the top injectors wont deliver fuel unless the bike is running... the secondary throttle plate is controlled by a servo motor, that calibrates when you turn the key.

Re: new motor problems???

A lot of times with a fuel pump if you rev it slow it'll let it climb okay but if you just nail it open it will hit the wall and start to bog bad.

Re: new motor problems???

First off.....

Have you done a tune up on the engine. I am assuming that you bought it used and seeing as you can't pay for a FUSE for your volt meter....... You might have skipped a few things...

I would have to go with fuel delivery or ignition. Are the spark plugs good? correctly gapped? What about fuel line restriction? Is the fuel line kinked? What about a fuel filter? Is there a filter screen on the tank side of the fuel pump?

What was the original problem with the last engine?

Re: new motor problems???

if it was a tps it would stumble when opening the throttle more when the motor is at any rpm. that doesnt sound like the problem. check fuel pressure, plugs, and coils, crank and cam position sensors.

Re: new motor problems???

check the exhaust valve. turn the key on and off. is the servo motor working? is the valve moving? if not the motor might be bad or the cables may be crossed and when its suppose open its closed and wont allow it to rev. hope that helps
